LEAE International to Distribute Imabe Shears and Balers in North America

Waste Processing Equipment remains the distributor for Imabe fiber and mixed recyclables balers.

Imabe Ibérica, based in Madrid, Spain, has appointed LEAE International, Hingham, Mass., as the North American distributor of the company’s line of scrap shears and car balers.

LEAE International is a new company formed by Eli and Harrie Cohen.

Manuel San Sebastián, Imabe export director, says, “We’re excited about this appointment. The Cohen family, and their company LEAE, bring years of experience in the scrap processing business to the relationship. This, combined with Imabe’s long history in the industry, offer scrap dealers in North America a new and important option.”

The commercial agreement between the companies includes the immediate availability of parts and service through a main warehouse, which is already in operation in Ontario, Calif.

In announcing this appointment, Imabe notes that it does not replace its current distributor for high-speed baling equipment for paper and mixed recyclables, Waste Processing Equipment, Rainsville, Ala. “The team at Waste Processing Equipment will continue their representation of our continuous baling presses,” Sebastián says.

Until now Imabe’s business has been focused primarily in Western and Eastern Europe as well as in Mexico and South America. In March 2009 the company announced that Waste Processing Equipment would offer the Imabe line of high-speed automatic balers through the Max-Pak dealer network.

Founded in 1975 Imabe Ibérica is a leading supplier of recycling machinery. The company’s product line includes scrap shears and balers, recycling plants, balers for fiber and mixed recyclables and solid waste processing equipment. The firm has installations throughout the world and operates subsidiaries in Mexico City, Mexico; Sao Paolo, Brazil; and Moscow.
