Lanner Anlagenbau Introduces Device to Extract Lubricants from Metal Chips

System is capable of achieving throughput of up to 2,000 kilograms an hour.

The metals industry produces thousands of metric tons of metal chips and depends on improved technology for waste disposal and cost savings. Due to this, many metalworkers find it necessary to give the metal chips and the coolant the same importance as the proper manufacturing process.

Lanner Anlagenbau GmbH, a specialist for chip processing, is supplying the Vetamat plant, a solution for cost savings by recovering coolant lubricants from metal chips and sludge. The plants are capable of achieving a throughput of up to 2,000 kilograms an hour.

The system includes a centrifuge, a conveyor with tank and an oil tub, as well as an adequate own control cabinet affiliate to the standard delivery scope of the turnkey compact system. The self-made control cabinet guarantees a smooth collaboration of all installation elements as well as a high general plant safety and a fully automatic operation with standby function.

Given that the Vetamat plant is based on an add-on system it is possible to extend it optionally by chip crusher, bulk separation, lift and tip machine or material separation plus coolant lubricants processing. Due to the extension, the company is in the position to adjust the installations to customer-specific necessities.

Through a funnel the wet chips are added continuously to the centrifuge. In this centrifuge the fluid is separated from the solid. In a filter plant the ejected metalworking fluid has dirt and fine abrasions removed. The remaining metalworking fluid can be resupplied to the processing machine as purified oil.

The wet chips are tipped into the funnel and automatically added in continuous amounts to the centrifuge. The result of melting down the dry chips (residual moisture < 1% possible) is a less environmental pollution than with melting down oily chips.

This demonstrates that the chip processing installations are an optimal amendment of environmental protection and economic efficiency.

Clean chip scrap metal do not cause high disposal cost, but changes into a valuable row material. In general it is possible to achieve higher scrap metal prices and the savings of the recyclable coolants and lubricants amortize the investments in a fast way.

For this purpose Lanner Anlagenbau GmbH will provide an individual made amortizing bill for the special requirements of the customers.

These systems do not only reduce cost-intensive disposals in a considerable way, but make even the application of high-grade grinding oil possible - from which many companies abstained because of economic reasons.
