Landbell Group, a global operator of more than 40 producer responsibility organizations (PROs) and a provider of closed-loop recycling solutions based in Germany, has begun working with PackIntelX, a packaging compliance software firm, to provide companies with practical support in preparing for requirements of the new European Union Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

Landbell Group says the PPWR, which will take effect in August 2026, will bring far-reaching changes and potentially could pose significant challenges for producers, importers, retailers and manufacturers of packaging across Europe. Those challenges include preparing EU declarations of conformity and analyzing the recyclability of packaging, meeting recycling and reuse targets and managing the “extensive administration burden” of technical documentation and certifications.

Through its partnership with Germany-based PackIntelX, Landbell Group will provide an online tool that enables companies to systematically analyze their packaging portfolio with PPWR requirements. The group says the tool also offers “concrete recommendations for action” and facilitates the preparation of the necessary documentation.

With the support of a network of partners, PackIntelX offers an interface to the lightweight packaging sorting and plastics recycling sectors, which Landbell Group says enables companies to translate analysis results directly into operational practice.

Landbell Group says it has 30 years of experience in helping companies comply with complex environmental regulations, with more than 30,000 customers worldwide. The group supports producers in fulfilling obligations for packaging, scrap electrical and electronic equipment, batteries and textiles.

“Our customers are facing one of the most significant regulatory changes in the packaging sector in years,” says Sandro Hubert, director of sales DACH Packaging at Landbell Group. “With PackIntelX, we are providing them with a practical tool that helps them implement the complex PPWR requirements—saving time, reducing risk and ensuring compliance.”

PackIntelX Managing Director Siddharth Bagri adds that digitalization now is more important than ever to reduce costs and effort while meeting PPWR requirements.

“We are delighted that, through our cooperation with Landbell Group, we will be able to support more and more companies across Europe in achieving PPWR compliance,” Bagri says.
