Lakeside Steel Selects Logistics Provider

PLS Logistics Services has been chosen to manage the company’s transportation logistics needs.

Lakeside Steel Corp., Welland, Ontario, has selected PLS Logistics Services, Rochester, Pa., to manage the company’s transportation logistics needs.

Lakeside Steel is one of Canada’s most diversified manufacturers of steel pipe and tubing serving the oil and gas, automotive, mining and commercial and industrial pipe industries, the press release says.

PLS will coordinate the outbound truck and rail shipments of finished goods and truck shipments of inbound steel, employing its proprietary Web-based transportation management system to dispatch and manage load movement, according to Lakeside.  PLS Logistics will also provide onsite coordination, carrier management, invoice audit and carrier payment functions.

The agreement between the two companies covers a five-year period.
