Representatives of Wabash Alloys and union representatives failed to reach an agreement, more than one month after the company locked out workers.
Despite close to 200 employees locked out of the secondary aluminum alloy producer, the company says that it continues to meet demands by a combination of salaried employees and temporary employees.
According to local press reports the two sides were unable to reach an agreement as recently as late last week, despite the presence of a representative from the Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service. There aren’t any new talks scheduled between the two sides. The Fort Wayne (Indiana_ Press Gazette noted that a union representative said the company has enough of an inventory to run for an additional two to three months before the shortage of labor problems arise.
