KW Plastics Recycling, headquartered in Troy, Alabama, has announced the promotion of three team members and a new hire. The company says these personnel changes are in response to increasing demand for KW’s high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) postconsumer resin (PCR).
Meagan Blair has been promoted to account manager in the sales department. She has served as a customer service representative since 2010 and began her career at KW as a college intern. Blair serves on the Pike County Chamber of Commerce board of directors, the Leadership Pike board and First United Methodist Church Daycare board. In this new role, she will manage inside sales, oversee the customer service department and maintain KW Plastics existing relationships.
Andy Johnson will transition from his current role in the company’s procurement department to a sales representative, using his relationship building and customer care skills, the company says. He came to the KW companies in 2011 after working in athletics at Troy University. With a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and a master’s degree in administration, Johnson began working with KW Container before moving to the raw materials division of KW Plastics.
Will Drinkard is moving from plant operations to the procurement department as a raw materials buyer. He has worked at KW since 2013, moving his way up from production to receiving and most recently was assessing bale quality and working with our procurement team in quality control. Drinkard brings his valuable experience in understanding the commodities and KW’s quality standards in purchasing raw material for recycling, the company says.
Samantha Queen has joined KW as a customer service representative supporting the sales department, overseeing logistics and working with production to ensure our customers receive quality resins that meet their specifications. She has a background in import/export services.
“We are excited to see our team grow,” KW General Manager Scott Saunders says. “Over the past year, the amount of interest in PCR has been greatly appreciated and to support this interest we are investing in the future to help meet the demand of our current and future customers.
“It’s rewarding to see past conversations and ideas of how to incorporate PCR into new applications come to fruition,” he continues. “The time is now, and we are committed to continuing to be the leader in HDPE and PP postconsumer resins.”
The KW companies include KW Plastics of Troy; KW Plastics of California, which is in Bakersfield; KW Plastics Recycling Division; and KW Container.
