KW Plastics’ Recycling division in Troy, Ala., recently received QS 9000: 1998 certification by ISO. QS standard are ISO certification standards that are geared to the automobile industry.
The company’s recycling division produces HDPE plastics.
A spokesman for the company said a big benefit to receiving the certification is it gives the company a much stronger opportunity with the auto industry. Additionally, being certified should give the company’s recycling division better markets in other manufacturing sectors.
According to local reports the process to receive the certification took around 16 months. They were first notified of being certified this past November.
