KSB Expands Indian Foundry

Two new natural-gas-fired furnaces will allow the foundry to increase its steel castings output.

The multinational firm KSB Group, based in Germany, has expanded the steel foundry capacities at its site in Vambori, India.

KSB has added two new natural gas-fired furnaces that will allow the foundry to increase its steel castings output from 300 tons per year to 1,200 tons per year. The foundry specializes in difficult-to-cast steels and stainless steels, as well as duplex and chrome steel.

The decision to expand its capabilities was due to growing demand for high-quality steel castings within globally operating KSB groups. In expanding its foundry, KSB says that the reason for the expansion is due to the fact that there are only a limited number of suppliers able to meet its quality requirement needs. Therefore, the company has opted to expand its foundry.
