Kroll Ontrack and Blancco form alliance

Kroll Ontrack, Minneapolis, a leading provider of data recovery and ediscovery products and services, and Blancco, with U.S. headquarters in Marietta, Ga., a global leader in data erasure and computer reuse solutions, have announced a strategic partnership through which Kroll Ontrack will offer Blancco’s suite of erasure software to corporations, refurbishing companies and government entities. Through this alliance, Blancco’s erasure software will be backed by Kroll Ontrack’s erasure and validation services as well as by Ontrack Eraser Degausser, providing Kroll Ontrack’s global customer base with a full end-to-end erasure strategy supported by a more expansive data erasure software suite in terms of supported media and platforms, the companies say.

Forming a end-to-end data erasure solution combining erasure software from Blancco with degausser technology and erasure services from Kroll Ontrack enables customers to work with one point of contact for all their data erasure needs, the companies say. Specifically, Blancco solutions now available through Kroll Ontrack include Blancco 5 for servers, laptops and PCs; Blancco Mobile for smartphones and tablets; and Blancco File and LUN for selective data erasure. These and other Blancco solutions can be centrally managed through the Blancco Management Console, creating a complete, auditable data erasure management (DEM) process with consolidation of detailed erasure reports, according to the companies.

Also, Blancco erasure products are now supported by Kroll Ontrack services. These services include on-site or remote erasure, technical support from Kroll Ontrack engineers who are certified to support Blancco solutions and Kroll Ontrack’s independent evaluation and analysis and that verifies no data can be recovered from the storage device, the companies say.
