Last month, Kripke Enterprises Inc. (KEI), a metals brokerage firm based in Toledo, Ohio, partnered with Connecting Kids to Meals (CKMT), also based in Toledo, to raise money and awareness for children experiencing food insecurity. The program, Metal for Meals, was created by Kripke and helped raised $14,000 for children in need.
According to a news release from KEI, the money will provide 28,000 meals and was raised through donations made by KEI’s clients donating metal.
“It takes a village to fight childhood hunger,” says Wendi Huntley, president of CKMT. “The core issue is that people don’t know there is a childhood hunger problem in our community.”
Connecting Kids to Meals provides healthy meals to at-risk children in the community at no cost. The organization has provided nearly 1 million meals this year in Ohio.
“On behalf of Kripke Enterprises, thank you to everyone involved in exceeding our goal,” says Eric Arnold, who oversaw the project at Kripke. “We are thrilled to help this amazing organization.”
