The private equity firm KPS Capital Partners LP, New York City, has completed the acquisition of ThyssenKrupp Waupaca Inc. from ThyssenKrupp Budd Co. through its newly formed, wholly owned affiliate. Following the acquisition, KPS has renamed the foundry group Waupaca Foundry Inc.
KPS says Waupaca Foundry Inc. is the largest iron foundry company in the world. The foundry produces gray and ductile iron castings. KPS adds that Waupaca is North America's leading supplier of iron castings to the automotive, truck, agriculture, construction, hydraulics and commercial vehicle markets. The company operates three manufacturing facilities in Waupaca, Wis., one foundry in Marinette, Wis., a foundry in Tell City, Ind., and a foundry in Etowah, Tenn.
