Keywell LLC, headquartered in Chicago, has notified the New York State Department of Labor that it will be closing its Frewsburg, N.Y., aerospace metals and specialty steel recycling facility in September.
In its filing with the state, the company says that it will begin terminations Sept. 6-19, 2013, and Oct. 11-24, 2013. A total of 49 employees will be affected by the plant closing. The company cited economic difficulties for shutting down the plant.
Over the past several months the company has closed a number of its facilities and has reportedly been seeking a buyer or investor.
According to the company’s website, Keywell operates eight processing facilities throughout the United States.
