Kentucky Prepares for Recycling Conference

August event organized by the Bluegrass Regional Recycling Corp.

The city of Lexington is serving as the host of the Kentucky Developmental Recycling Conference, taking place August 14 and 15.

The event, organized by the Bluegrass Regional Recycling Corp. (BRRC), is taking place at Griffin Gate Marriott Resort in Lexington as well as at the historic Spindletop Hall property.

In addition to educational sessions, admission to the event includes a tour of a single-stream MRF in Lexington as well as of Kentucky Horsepark.

Educational sessions will include coverage of the State of Georgia Waste Characterization audit; the economic impact of recycling; a report from U.S. EPA Region Four; recycling-related grants available in Kentucky; and the BRRC’s statewide development strategy.

The Southeast Recycling Development Council (SERDC), a coalition representing 10 Southern U.S. states, will also be holding its board meeting in coordination with the Kentucky event.

More information on the Kentucky Developmental Recycling Conference is available by calling the BRRC at (859) 626-9117 or by visiting its Web site at www.thebrrc.com.
