The state of Kentucky’s Division of Waste Management, Recycling and Marketing Assistance program, is conducting several e-scrap workshops over the next two months. The first workshop is scheduled for Feb. 22 at General Butler State Resort Park, Carroll County; and the second workshop is slated for Natural Bridge State Resort Park, Pwell County, March 22.
The sessions are open to individuals but are primarily geared toward school systems and other high-volume generators of electronic scrap.
Topics to be covered during the program include: Hazardous waste issues concerning e-waste; Reuse/recycling options; Green purchasing; Recycler qualifications; and How to hold a collection event.
