The U.S. Shredder and Castings Group, Trussville, Ala., says it has started the installation of a heavy duty 80108 shredder and downstream system at Columbus Metal Industries’ facility in Kearney, Neb. It will be the second shredder operated by Columbus Metal, headquartered in Columbus, Neb. The shredder is expected to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2011.
A news release issued by U.S. Shredder says the system will include its shredder control system and be driven by a DC drive system supplied by Amerimex, Houston. The downstream system and conveyors were manufactured by U.S. Shredder’s sister company U.S. Conveyor with electro drum magnets and eddy currents supplied by SGM Magnetics , Sarasota, Fla. Castings and wear parts will be supplied by the company’s aftermarket division.
Construction engineering and facility layout was provided by U.S. Shredder’s Installation Engineering Group, based in Omaha, Neb.
The U.S. Shredder and Castings Group offers scrap shredders, control systems, downstream systems, nonferrous recovery, air systems, scrap shears, balers, and loggers as well as shredder castings, service, engineering and consulting to the global scrap industry.
