Kadant Black Clawson Inc. received an order for two Float Purger stock cleaning systems from Michigan Paperboard, Battle Creek, Mich. The equipment is being installed in the coarse screening loop of the mill’s existing screening system.
The cleaning system combines the concentration and removal of light contaminants, defibering of undeflaked stock, and collection and removal of heavy grit in a single machine. By incorporating Float Purger technology into their current system, the mill expects to see improved deflaking and more efficient removal of contaminants in its coarse screening operation.
The new equipment will process various furnishes, such as old corrugated containers, old newsprint and clippings, in the production of coated boxboard.
Installation and start-up is scheduled for mid-2005.
