Keep America Beautiful Inc. (KAB) has appointed Carey Hamilton, executive director of Indiana Recycling Coalition, and Gregory Crawford, executive director of the Steel Recycling Institute (SRI), to its Board of Directors.
“In order to build upon Keep America Beautiful’s role in recycling and waste reduction, we need strong voices and experienced practitioners from within the SRO community,” says Matthew McKenna, KAB’s president and CEO. “Carey Hamilton leads a dynamic organization in Indiana, and her experience will help KAB to develop and implement new tools and systems to increase recycling awareness and access nationwide.”
According to a release, Hamilton will represent the interests of KAB’s State Recycling Organization partners. She has served as IRC’s executive director since 2008 following a career in environmental consulting and advocacy. Prior to the IRC, Hamilton served as a program manager for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, where she specialized in air-quality issues.
Prior to his appointment as executive director at SRI, Crawford served as the organization’s vice president of operations. In 1990, he joined the original ASTM E50 Committee on Environmental Assessment.
“Keep America Beautiful has a longstanding relationship with Steel Recycling Institute and has great respect for the organization’s expertise,” McKenna adds. “Our growing recycling programs and initiatives will benefit greatly from Greg Crawford’s vast industry knowledge and his connections to recyclers nationwide.”
