Mark Bush has resigned as CEO of the United States business unit of New Delhi-based JSW Steel. Chief Operating Officer Greg Manfredi will reportedly fulfill Bush’s role on an interim basis until the appointment of a new JW Steel USA CEO.
According to India-based metals information service LiveMint, Bush, who had joined JSW Steel in 2020, left the firm to “pursue other opportunities.” LiveMint cites a company statement.
The corporate statement includes a quote from Parth Jindal, a director of JSW Steel USA, who says, “We sincerely thank Mark for his leadership in steering JSW Steel USA during the COVID-19 pandemic and in achieving the many milestones that the company accomplished during his tenure. I have full confidence in the team and their ability to continue to safely deliver the high-quality products that our customers are accustomed to receiving from JSW Steel USA.”
JSW Steel US operates scrap-fed electric arc furnace mils in Baytown, Texas, and Mingo Junction, Ohio. The company indicates Manfredi, as interim CEO, will oversee “the continued execution of the modernization and upgrades of the plate mill facility at Baytown.”
The statement quotes Manfredi as saying, “I am honored to lead JSW Steel USA as we continue to move forward on our strategic priorities. I have great respect for the work that the team puts in, and the culture we have built together over the years. We will continue to provide the best for our customers and build lasting relationships with all our stakeholders.”
LiveMint indicates that over the past 30 years JSW Steel “has grown from a single manufacturing unit” to a steel producer with a capacity of 28.5 million metric tons per year in India and the U.S. combined, with plans to add another 10 million tons per year of capacity by its 2025 fiscal year.
