The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is proposing to renew a solid waste disposal site transfer station permit for the Josephine Recycling and Transfer Station, located in Merlin, Ore. The agency is seeking a permit for a period of up to 10 years.
According to the DEQ, the facility has been operating as a recycling and transfer station since 2000 under a Solid Waste Disposal Site Permit. The property is owned by the city of Grants Pass, and the facility is owned by Grants Pass Sanitation Inc. The facility handles household and commercial solid waste and recyclables at the site.
