Fuchs, a German manufacturer of specialized material handling equipment, has appointed John Fair as commercial general manager for North America.

Based out of the Fuchs North American headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, Fair will spearhead commercial strategy and growth across the region, with his immediate focus being to strengthen distribution coverage and commercial strategy. He will work closely with Fuchs’ German engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure customer and distributor feedback directly informs product development and lead‑time planning, the company says, with a key priority being to elevate aftermarket support by leveraging the new Terex Louisville Parts facility to boost parts availability, service responsiveness and overall customer uptime.

With previous experience leading equipment manufacturers such as SDLG, Sany America, Mahindra USA and Krone NA across North America, Fuchs says Fair brings a combination of commercial strategy, distribution development expertise and operational discipline to his new role. He has built go‑to‑market frameworks from the ground up, strengthened distribution networks across expansive territories and introduced digital and financial programs that streamline how customers and partners do business.

Todd Goss, general manager of Terex Louisville, says, “John’s experience building successful distribution networks, transforming commercial operations and driving growth across some of the most competitive markets in North America makes him an exceptional fit for this role. His leadership, drive and deep understanding of the industry will play a critical part in strengthening our presence in North America and supporting the long‑term success of our customers and distribution network.”

Fair’s first appearance with Fuchs is at the AED 2026 exhibition, Jan. 19-21 in Hilton Anatole, Dallas.

“AED Summit is the ideal place to hit the ground running with Fuchs,” Fair says. “I’ll be there to meet as many dealer prospects, potential solutions providers and current dealers as possible, listen carefully and translate those conversations into practical next steps with the team.

“I’m delighted to take on this role and look forward to the work ahead as we strengthen support and growth of Fuchs across North America.”
