Somerset, Pennsylvania-based J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers, a manufacturer of dump bodies, trailers, tanks and specialty truck equipment, has announced the promotion of Joseph F. Caldrone to director of operations. In this capacity, Caldrone will be responsible for directing the activities of the company’s operations departments, which include engineering, purchasing, manufacturing and quality.
“Joe has a tremendous amount of ‘boots on the ground’ manufacturing experience, coupled with good leadership skills and a process-based approach to management,” says Michael Riggs, senior vice president of the company. “I look forward to working closely with Joe as he begins enhancing our operations processes.”
Caldrone has been with the company for 21 years. Starting as a machinist, he steadily advanced through the company based on his work ethic, leadership skills and passion for building high quality equipment, according to a news release from J&J Truck Bodies.
“That’s the beauty of a machinist: good math skills and attention to detail,” Riggs says.
J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers is a division of Somerset Welding & Steel and was founded in 1958. The company also operates J&J Truck Equipment.
