JCB Announces Global Expansion

Construction equipment manufacturer builds in China, India.

U.K.-based JCB Inc. has begun construction on its first Chinese factory.

The construction equipment manufacturer, with its U.S. headquarters in Pooler, Ga., has acquired land in Pudong, an area south of Shanghai, which will become the company’s Chinese manufacturing headquarters. The products that will be manufactured there have not been determined yet.

JCB is also expanding in India, where the company has constructed a second factory in Pune, about 1,000 miles away from JCB India’s Delhi facility. The new $30 million plant will produce fabricated and machined components.
