The five largest steelmakers in Japan announced plans to cut steel by between 3-10 percent over the next six months. The move is being done to remove excess capacity from the market.
The five steel companies are Nippon Steel Corp., NKK Corp., Kawasaki Steel, Sumitomo Metal Industries, and Kobe Steel. Kyodo News
