Çorum, Turkey-based Iza Makina (Machinery) says its CDS-1200 device is helping nonferrous metals recyclers convert scrapped condensers into separate copper and aluminum scrap grades at a rate of up to 9 tons per day.
The company says infeed material for the CDS-1200 can include condensers “formed by curving copper pipe through aluminum plate” found in applications such as air conditioners, refrigerators, some vehicle cooling units and other cold air storage devices.
Iza Makina says the device can handle up to 2,000 kilograms (4,400 pounds) of material in an eight-hour work shift. The CDS-1200’s 6.2-kilowatt motor can handle materials of up to 50 millimeters (two inches) in thickness, says the company.
