Vulcanium, a titanium distributor, and Itochu Metals Corp. have entered a long-term representation agreement to serve the Japanese market.
According to both companies, the relationship will help grow Vulcanium’s presence in Japan by offering Japanese titanium consumers a source for both titanium mill products and what they call value-added processing opportunities on the recycling side. “Sourcing near net shapes without the additional costs associated with excess scrap will benefit titanium customers in both the price and speed of material acquisition,” say the metals companies.
Jerry St Clair, president of Vulcanium, says, “We are very excited to join forces with such an esteemed company as Itochu Metals Corp. We look forward to our development of a successful titanium business in Japan.”
Vulcanium is a division of United Performance Metals, based in Hamilton, Ohio. The company supplies a range of titanium in sheet, coil, plate, bar and forged block, as well as commercially pure stainless steel and continuous caster machine (CCM) bars.
Itochu Metals Corp. specializes in nonferrous metals production and recycling.
