The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), Washington, opened registration for the its Annual Convention and Exposition. ISRI2019, an annual gathering of scrap recycling professionals, will take place April 8-11 at the L.A. Convention Center in Los Angeles.
Robin Wiener, president of ISRI, says the event will be more comprehensive than its past events.
“ISRI2019 will help attendees address changes in the recycling stream, shifting global trade policies, workforce challenges, market trends, and supply and demand issues,” Wiener says in an association news release. She adds that the trade show will feature hundreds of exhibitors providing business solutions.
ISRI expects around 5,000 recycling professionals from around the world to gather next April in Los Angeles. The show will feature one of the largest exhibit floors of any recycling event during the year, commodity spotlight sessions focused on market trends at home and around the world and dozens of workshops addressing the most pressing topics in the industry.
According to an ISRI news release, ISRI2019 will also feature several new attendee experiences to facilitate more networking opportunities, including the following:
- more networking opportunities, including special early morning and after-hour activities;
- general session speakers Robert Herjavec, author, entrepreneur and star of the Emmy-Award winning TV series Shark Tank and best-selling author John O’Leary;
- new industry general session on workforce development issues;
- sales training seminar with award-winning professional trainer Hal Becker; and
- exclusive programming for ISRI members, including a presentation featuring ZipRecruiter CEO Ian Siegel.
Reservations in the ISRI room block at the Intercontinental, Westin Bonaventure, Sheraton Grand LA, The LA Grand Hotel, Millennium Biltmore and J.W. Marriott LA Live hotels are open. ISRI’s convention website is the only official source for ISRI room block and rates.
