The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), Washington, and its Paper Stock Industries (PSI) chapter plan to host a Spotlight on Paper webinar with two speakers who will examine the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the containerboard, tissue, pulp and recycled fiber sectors of the paper industry as well as future prospects of those sectors. The webinar takes place Wednesday, June 3, at 2 p.m. EDT

Jose Gonzalez

Jose Gonzalez and Sanna Sosa, two senior principals from AFRY Management Consulting, Atlanta, will review how the pandemic has already affected several sectors in the paper industry and discuss the short- and long-term outlooks for those sectors during the webinar. They will also talk about how shifts in consumer habits could impact paper and packaging.

According to a news release from PSI, both speakers have many years of industry experience. Gonzalez has more than 20 years of experience with a background in business analysis and strategic direction for the forest industry, wood products, and pulp and paper companies. He currently supervises strategic, market and operational engagements in North America and Latin America and advises CEO and board-level executives.

Sanna Sosa

Sosa has managed and contributed to more than 100 market strategy and business strategy projects for North American and international clients for the past 12 years. Her work has focused on packaging product markets, hygiene product markets and specialty products.

Joe Pickard, ISRI’s chief economist and director of commodities, will moderate the webinar June 3.
