The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI), Washington, is now offering three additional safety and training videos for scrap recyclers. All videos are available in both English and Spanish.
“Working Safe and Smart with Shears” offers instructional and procedural guidelines for working with alligator shears, guillotine shears and paper shredders. The 20-minute video also illustrates the serious consequences that can result from improper use of the machines.
“Working Safe and Smart—Preventing Rollovers” is targeted to truck drivers within the industry. The video points out causes and consequences of truck rollover incidents. ISRI says the video will be followed by additional truck safety videos.
“Visual Identification of Radioactive Material” has been designed to help employees identify radioactive material before it can create harm in a recycling facility. The 25-minute video uses a combination of photographs and animation to help employees become familiar with common sources of radioactive scrap.
Additional information on the three new videos as well as an order form can be found on the Web at www.isri.org.Latest from Recycling Today
