ISRI Hoops Hysteria Is Back for 2008

The Northern Ohio Chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI) has scheduled its fourth annual Hoops Hysteria event for Wednesday, March 19, 2008.

The event takes place at Quicken Loans Arena (the “Q”), home of the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, and will feature a variety of events for scrap recyclers and members of their families.

Although the 2008 schedule is not yet finalized, events and opportunities for participants in the past have included:

• The chance to form a team and play on an NBA court at The “Q” Arena

• An opportunity to watch LeBron James and the Cavs take an opponent—and this year it is the Cavs’ divisional rival the Detroit Pistons

• Pre-game dinner and cocktails at a private dining area in The Q.

• A portion of the cost is a tax-deductible donation to Northern Ohio ISRI’s college scholarship fund.

In previous Hoops Hysteria events, eight or more teams from throughout the Great Lakes Region have competed in the afternoon tournament.

Funds have also traditionally been raised through sponsorships and a raffle before and during the event.
