This year’s edition of the Hoops Hysteria fundraiser, organized by the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI), is taking place March 22 at “The Q” arena in Cleveland.
The event features a tournament among scrap recyclers on the NBA floor of The Q as well as a meal at the arena followed by a game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Charlotte Bobcats. Funds raised by the event benefit the RRF Scholarship Fund of the Northern Ohio Chapter.
Tickets are selling quickly, according to event chair Michael Eisner of Lakeside Scrap Metals Inc. in Cleveland. Those interested in reserving tickets for the event can go to the ISRI Web site at www.isri.org/hoops and download a registration and order form.
According to Eisner, “There are only four benchwarmer spots left to sell for $100 each and one courtside kid program for $250.” Eisner says the privileges provide a rare chance for young people to become part of the excitement of an NBA game.
Eisner is optimistic that the event will help raise up to $10,000 for the Scholarship Fund this year.
