The Gulf Coast Chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI) has scheduled its second annual Scrap.Edu three-day training seminar for Jan. 25-27 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel near Dallas-Fort Worth Airport.
The event’s organizers are billing the $295 seminar as consisting of scrap training sessions focused on preventive maintenance and a broad range of other industry topics.
Topics scheduled to be addressed include:
• Safety
• Portable shear operation
• Scrap handler operation
• Balers
• DOT compliance for trucks
• Forklift/skid steer operation
• Shredder operation
• Software, engine oil and conveyor belts
The educational sessions take place Tuesday and Wednesday Jan. 25 and 26, followed by a tour of the Holt Caterpillar facility on Thursday, Jan. 27.
