The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries created a new division to accommodate members of the National Association of Scrap Tire Processors. The resolution was unanimously passed by ISRI’s board of directors at its fall membership meeting held earlier this month. The NASTP executive committee unanimously agreed to join ISRI. The new division began immediately after the vote.
The new division will be called the Tire & Rubber Division and Scrap Tire Processors Chapter. The NASTP will dissolve, with former members of the association becoming ISRI members. There were 15 members in the NASTP.
The decision to join ISRI “gives companies engaged in the tire processing business access to ISRI’s many resources, provides a business and networking forum, and gives us a strong voice in Washington, D.C.,” said Bill Vincent, president of NATSP.
The group expects to bring in additional scrap tire processors into the national chapter.
The new chapter brings to four the number of ISRI divisions -- ferrous, nonferrous and paper being the other three.Latest from Recycling Today
