Industrial Services of America, Inc. reported increased revenues and income before tax for both the three months and six months ending June 30. Compared with the second quarter of 2000, the second quarter 2001 revenues increased 7.9 percent to $25.8 million, while income before tax increased to $254,282 from $230,306 last year. It was the company's sixth consecutive profitable quarter. For the first six months revenues increased 12.2% over the same period of time last year, and profit before income tax increased from $424,478 to $441,965.
The company's higher second quarter 2001 revenues primarily reflects additional business from existing accounts in the company's Management Services segment, where revenues increased 18.9 percent over the 2000 second quarter to $19.9 million from $16.7 million. This was offset by a $1.3 million decrease in Recycling revenues, due to lower commodity prices.
