Iron Mountain Inc. announced the formation of a new business unit, Iron Mountain Intellectual Property Management, Inc. This was accomplished by uniting its DSI Technology Escrow Services business with Arcemus, the domain name records management company Iron Mountain acquired in May of 2004.
DSI Technology Escrow Services provides technology escrow services. These services ensure business continuity through access to software source code that is securely held in a vault and released to a customer should the software vendor cease to provide support. Escrow services are used during the technology licensing process to strengthen traditional methods of intellectual property protection such as trade secrets, patents, copyrights and trademarks while providing the needed assurance that customers require to protect their investments.
