Interstate Waste Services Inc. (IWS), a vertically integrated provider of solid waste collection, transfer, recycling and disposal services that is based in Teaneck, New Jersey, has acquired Cipollini Carting & Recycling Inc. based in Rockaway, New Jersey. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“The Cipollini team has built a legacy of trust, service and flexibility and we are honored to carry on the Cipollini tradition,” says Mike DiBella, CEO of IWS. “The IWS team extends a warm welcome to Peter Cipollini, his team and all Cipollini customers.”

According to a news release from IWS, Cipollini was founded in 1989 and is a nonhazardous solid waste and recycling collection provider serving residential and commercial customers throughout northern and central New Jersey.

The company says the acquisition will expand IWS’ collection capability in the western portion of its New Jersey footprint and allows IWS to internalize additional volume into its rail-served disposal network. By leveraging its waste-by-rail capabilities, IWS says it reduces vehicle miles traveled and greenhouse gas emissions from over-the-road hauling.
