The German waste management and recycling company Interseroh SE has sold its recyclables trading divisions to its Berlin-based parent company ALBA Group plc.
According to Interseroh, the move allows both companies, which already cooperate under the ALBA Group umbrella, to combine their raw materials activities into a single segment.
Interseroh’s companies that were sold to ALBA include RDB Plastics GmbH, Interseroh Holzhandel GmbH and ALBA Recycling Asia Ltd., which includes the subsidiaries Indo China B.V. and ISR Italia S.A. The deal also gives ALBA a stake in Interseroh’s wood trading operation.
The trading division will operate under the management of Martin Becker-Rethmann in the materials management segment of the ALBA Group.
“This move has brought us one step closer to optimizing the structures and administrative processes within the ALBA Group and to standardizing the workflows within our raw materials trading activities,” says Axel Schweitzer, ALBA’s CEO and chairman.
Becker-Rethmann also says the sale will make it easier for the combined company to develop new markets for paper and plastic throughout Europe. ALBA Recycling Asia Ltd., based in Hong Kong, will be increasingly used as a joint marketing platform for the south Asian market, he adds.
