International Paper, a Memphis, Tennessee-based producer of packaging, pulp and paper products, has named Mark Nellessen the new vice president of international relations, effective immediately. Nellessen will report to Tim Nicholls, senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Nellessen joined International Paper in 1992 and has held various roles in finance and general management. Most recently, he served as vice president, financial planning and analysis.
Nellessen succeeds Guillermo Gutierrez, who has been appointed vice president and general manager, Latin America, for International Paper's North American container business. Gutierrez has been with International Paper since 1994 and, similar to Nellessen, has held various finance and general management roles as well as roles in sales. He served as vice president, investor relations since 2017 before Nellessen's appointment.
