International Absorbents Inc. reported that construction of its new 86,000 square foot manufacturing and warehouse facility in Jesup, Ga., is basically complete and that the facility is now in its commissioning stage.
The new Jesup facility gives International Absorbents’ manufacturing and warehouse capabilities on the East Coast, closer to major markets. The addition of this facility will almost triple the company’s overall production capacity.
“The Company’s growth has been such that we are very much in need of this additional production capacity and we are eagerly anticipating it coming on-line and relieving pressure on our current facility,” stated Gordon Ellis, chairman of International Absorbents Inc. “This new facility is state-of-the-art and incorporates upgrades and improvements that we have developed over the past 18 years of operating our plant in Washington State.
The Jesup facility is the second phase of the company’s three-phase expansion plan. The third phase will be replacement of the company’s primary manufacturing line in Bellingham, Wash.
