Intercon Solutions, Chicago Heights, Ill., has announced that it has received OHSAS 18001 certification for occupational health and safety management.
Intercon, an electronics recycling operation specializing in disassembly of electronic devices, currently operates using an ISO 14001-certified environmental management system.
“Achieving this OHSAS 18001 certification confirms Intercon’s belief not only in improving the environment but in creating the safest workplace possible,” the company states in a news release. “Benefits of maintaining this standard will tremendously advance Intercon as a whole while providing extra valued safety for Intercon’s employees, which can give everyone a substantial peace of mind.”
Intercon operates a 250,000-square-foot facility in Chicago Heights as well as facilities in Huntsville, Ala.; Sacramento, Calif.; Tampa, Fla.; St. Louis; Concord, N.C.; Dallas; Vancouver, British Columbia; Ottawa, Ontario; Toronto; and London.
