Innov-X Systems Inc., Woburn, Mass., is now offering the Omega Xpress XRF analyzer with Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) technology for what the company calls “superior high-speed material sorting and 100 percent positive material identification (PMI) for typical and challenging metal applications.”
The Omega Xpress features what Innov-X calls a “powerful 40-kV/40-watt X-ray tube, delivering the fastest, most precise and sensitive analysis available today in a handheld X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) analyzer for metal and alloy applications.”
Other features of the Omega Xpress touted by the company include:
• Provides precise analysis for aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, red metals, cast stainless, high-temp and nickel super-alloys
• Delivers accurate PMI of carbon and low-alloy steels
• Separates tantalum, tungsten, hafnium and rhenium in specialty alloys
• Non-destructively and accurately ID’s and assays precious metals.
In addition to offering direct light element analysis in air, the Omega Xpress is available with optional patented vacuum technology, according to Innov-X.
