In Memoriam: Scott Edwards

Scott Edwards, sales director at Wendt Corp., Buffalo, New York, died Aug. 23 from cancer at the age of 54.  

Edwards joined the Wendt sales team in 2013.

Company President Tom Wendt states, “Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Scott have lost a dear friend and colleague. Scott was fascinated by the scrap industry and thrived in his leadership position in his six years at Wendt. His dedication and knowledge of the industry has been an integral part of our company’s success and growth. No words can adequately express our sadness and grief over Scott’s passing or our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him.”

Among those Edwards is survived by are his wife of eight years, Christine Edwards; his children, Ian (age 10), Emilie (age 28) and Erika Reed (age 25).

According to Edwards’ obituary, his children were sources of pride and joy. “His legacy of a kind spirit, passion for sports (especially the Buffalo Bills), love of the great outdoors and zest for life will live on through them,” the obituary reads.  

His family remembers him as “a great people person” who “could talk to anyone, which only added to his long and successful career in sales.” They also thank and acknowledge the support provided by the member of the Wendt team.

A celebration of Edwards’ life is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 31, from 4-8 p.m. at Red Rock Campground in Holley, New York.
