Michelle Raymond, the founder of Maryland-based publishing firm Raymond Communications, passed away in late April after battling cancer.
A letter from Bruce Popka, vice president of the College Park, Md.-based company, notes that a memorial service has been planned for May 14 in Adelphi, Md. Donations to the American Cancer Society in Michele’s name are being suggested by those planning the service.
Michele founded Raymond Communications, www.raymond.com, in 1991 and started publishing the State Recycling Laws Update newsletter in the 1990s. Other publications started by the company include another newsletter, Recycling Laws International, as well as a variety of special reports targeting certain geographic areas or recycling sectors.
According to Popka, Raymond Communications will continue to serve its subscribers and clients under his direction and that of managing editor Kim Leslie.
