Chicago-based Imperial Group, which operates scrap recycling and melt shop facilities in seven states, has purchased property in Franksville, Wisconsin, reportedly with the intention of opening a scrap recycling facility at the site.
An online article from the Milwaukee Business News states Imperial Group is expected to use the 37,600-square-foot industrial building it has purchased to engage in scrap processing and metal fabrication operations. The building was formerly used by an airplane hangar door maker called Norco Manufacturing.
Imperial Group has facilities operating under several different names, including Imperial Zinc, Imperial Aluminum, Imperial Recycling, Imperial Alloys, Kormet Metals, Midwest Industrial Metals, Mayco Industries, Aero Trade, ThirtyOx and Exeon (which operates a wire chopping facility in Indiana).
The combined Imperial Group companies operate from locations in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Texas, North Carolina and Alabama, with Wisconsin becoming the eighth state from which it operates once the Franksville location opens for business. The Aero Trade subsidiary also has a location in the United Kingdom.
