IMCO Recycling Inc. plans to start a new plant in Germany to produce magnesium.
The plant, located next to IMCO's aluminum refinery at Toeging, Germany is expected to make its first magnesium deliveries early next year. in January, "The project is running on schedule, demand for magnesium is very positive," said Roland Scharf-Bergmann, managing director for VAW-IMCO. "We already have our first contracts.
The plant will process magnesium scrap.
Last year Irving-based IMCO bought 100 percent control of German aluminum producer VAW-IMCO Guss when it bought 50 percent shareholding held by Norway's Hydro Aluminum, a unit of Norsk Hydro.
