IMCO Inks Deal with Metal Conversion Ltd.

Arrangement will last five years.

IMCO Recycling Inc. has reached agreement with Metal Conversions Limited, located in Mansfield, Ohio, on a long-term contract under which IMCO will recycle the customer's aluminum materials and produce ingot, molten metal and deoxidation products for the steel industry.

Thomas W. Rogers, senior vice president, marketing, of IMCO's aluminum recycling division, said the new agreement "will improve the operating efficiency of both companies and will increase processing volume at several IMCO facilities by a total of more than 400 million pounds over the next five years." As part of the agreement, IMCO will purchase several casting lines currently located at Metal Conversions' Painesville, Ohio, plant.

Rob Carey, president of Metal Conversions, said: "This agreement will allow Metal Conversions to utilize the combined strengths of both companies to enhance its ability to serve customers and suppliers."

Rock Creek Aluminum, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of IMCO, will market Metal Conversions' deoxidation products for the steel industry along with its own products that are used as metallurgical additions in the steelmaking process.
