The city of Moline, Ill. City Council will be hold a second reading on an ordinance to amend the city’s zoning and land development code for a construction and demolition recycling company. The council meeting is slated for Nov. 21.
Miller Leasing, LLC had requested around acres of land be rezoned from light industrial to general industrial. The rezoning item is in conjunction with the company’s request for a special use permit, which the city’s Planning Commission will consider after the Council acts on the rezoning request.
According to local press reports opposition to the proposed change is significant, with those opposed feeling that the impact of changing the zoning would be negative for the surrounding region.
