At the 36th Annual Conference of the International Iron and Steel Institute held earlier this month, the winners of the Annual IISI Website Competition were announced. The main Judges Choice Award was won for the second year by Posco of Korea. BHP Steel of Australia was the runner up.
Introducing two new categories, open to the whole steel community, the People's Choice Award for the Best Steel Association or Steel Portal Site was won by Jernkontoret, and Tata Steel won the Best Steel Producer/Manufacturer Site.
Judges were asked to evaluate the entries on a whole series of criteria including Visual Design, Functionality, Content, Interactivity and Overall Experience.
In a competition open to the whole steel community, entries for the People's Choice Award were divided into two categories; either a Steel Association / Steel Portal Site or a Steel Producer / Manufacturer Site. In both cases each entrant had a small banner on their website encouraging users to vote for their particular website. The competition attracted more than 5,000 votes from Internet users all over the world.
The winner of the Steel Portal Site was Jernkontoret which is the Swedish Steel Producers Association website. The runner-up was SteelRX, which is global resource for steel and steel customers.
The winner of the Steel Producer Site was Tata Steel of India with U.S. Steel as runner-up.Latest from Recycling Today
