Messe München GmbH, organisers of IFAT 2016, are reporting that exhibit space at the environmental technology trade fair is fully booked. The event takes place May 30-June 3 2016, at Messe München’s exhibition center in Munich, Germany.
Stefan Rummel, managing director of Messe München, says he is optimistic “that we will again be able to welcome over 3,000 exhibitors in Munich. In some sections of the fair, we have waiting lists. We are very pleased about this further rise in interest, in particular from abroad.” The exhibit sections pertaining to recycling and water management are fully booked, according to Rummel.
IFAT started in 1966 under the name International Trade Fair for Sewage Technology as a fair for that particular industry segment. The 1966 event featured 147 exhibitors from nine countries sharubg 18,000 square meters (193,750 square feet) of exhibit space. About 7,650 visitors from 40 different countries attended that year.
Over the years the event has expanded and now features sections on water supply, recycling and technology for municipal services and is held in 16 halls within the exhibition center grounds.
For the coming event in 2016, IFAT will be taking up a total of 230,000 square metres (2.475 million square feet) of exhibition space, with 115,000 square metres (1.24 million square feet) of that dedicated to recycling and municipal technologies. More than 135,000 visitors from all over the world are expected to attend what Messe München now dubs “The World’s Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Waste and Raw Materials Management.”
A searchable directory of 2016 exhibitors is available at the IFAT website.
Messe München organizes some 40 trade shows for capital and consumer goods and high-tech industries in Munich and also now organises trade shows in China, India, Turkey and South Africa.
