IES Executive to Speak about Combustible Dust and Fiber

Brad Carr, president of Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), Winston-Salem, N.C., will speak at the Southeast Recycling Conference & Expo March 14, 2012, about ways to avoid Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OHSA) fines from fugitive combustible dust and fiber.

 

The presentation, titled “An Insider’s Look at OSHA’s New Regulations on Fugitive Combustible Particles,” targets the key areas that need to be addressed given OSHA’s new directives, Carr says.  The purpose is to update the industry on the strategies that can be taken to resolve the dangers associated with fugitive particles, he adds. 

 

“OSHA is rigorously enforcing the new regulations they adopted from National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA)  654 Standards,” Carr says. “At IES, we know how important it is for plant managers and owners to be aware of the specifics and to determine a plan to comply with them.  I want to make sure people get the facts—when they apply the knowledge, they can avoid the fines—and keep their employees safe.”
