Preparations are in place for the 2026 edition of ICM AG's International Electronics Reuse and Recycling Congress (IERC), which will be Jan. 21-23 in Valencia, Spain.
The Palacio de Congresos in Valencia is the venue for IERC 2026, marking the first time the event is being held in Valencia.
Switzerland-based ICM says the annual event brings together the most influential actors from the entire electronics recycling value chain every year to discuss the key issues concerning the industry.
The conference in Valencia will open with remarks from Vicente Martinez Mus, vice-president of the Valencian regional government. The first keynote speech will be delivered by Brian Markwalter of the United States Consumer Technology Association, who is scheduled to provide an overview of new developments and trends in the consumer electronics sector.
“Over two full days, the speakers and delegates from all over the world will debate innovation and market developments and ongoing challenges in the electronics recycling sector worldwide,” ICM says.
Those represented on the IERC stage will include Madrid-based consulting firm Analistas Financieros Internacionales, recycling companies Sims Lifecycle Solutions, Galloo Group, TSR and Umicore and electronics OEMs and technology firms including Apple, Google, Lenovo, HP and Logitech.
The IERC 2026 exhibition area will host business meetings and demonstrations of technology and expertise with tech talks. The event’s website includes a list of more than 15 exhibiting companies and information on how to register for IERC 2026.
Also part of the event are two optional Spanish plant visits, one to a refrigerator recycling facility near Spain run by Ilunion and one to the Sophia photovoltaic solar panel facility in Valencia.
